Nintendo and Activision have announced that they will be launching a special introductory bundle of the game and the handheld console sometime this June. Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith revealed that that the collaboration is Infact very much real and said:

Nintendo has been impressed with this innovation and part of our launch will include selling the game bundled with Nintendo DS hardware.

The 15 confirmed songs on board the DS will include pop hits like This Love by Maroon 5, Breed by Nirvana and All Star by Smash Mouth. Although the Guitar Grip featured on the handheld will be duly compared to the relatively comfortable guitar controllers used with the box consoles, the success of the innovation is all but assured given the huge popularity of the game among users of all ages.
