Although there has been a lot of talk about introducing social networking for the gamers, till date, only Rockstar Games have announced a launch date for their GTA game forum which will hit the internet on April 15th. Now, we have one more contender for the social-game networking pie with the PS3 Home all set to undergo public beta testing. The PS3 Home is a virtual world, modelled on the lines of the highly popular Second Life, where gamers can shop, interact and even play online games. For this, every PS3 owner will have to create an online profile/avatar of himself with which he can become a part of this alternate gaming universe. The public beta testing is all set to begin on the PS3 Home, which means it could hit the internet pretty soon. Now that Sony and Rockstars Games have started the game networking trend, expect the other console makers and developers to follow suit very soon.
